Whether you want to embed your favorite YouTube video, the latest presentation from your Google Drive, a sample of your designs, or more, we have something to offer!

With Online docs, you and your team can easily collaborate on all your documents and add all your comments right from monday.com.

How to add this?

  • Board view

To add Online docs, click the plus sign in the top left of your dashboard, then click Apps and then Explore more apps.Untitled design (56).gif

  • Dashboard widget

Open your dashboard and simply click Add widget at the top of the dashboard page. Then click More widgets. Group 63 (48).png

Now that your Online Docs is set up, you can start embedding all your favorite links.

how does it work

To start embedding links, simply paste the URL and add a name to your link for easy access.

You can embed almost any link you want, but for it to work, the link must be an embedded link . Let’s go through some examples to understand better!

Map embedding

To embed a map from Google Maps, click the share icon located on the left side of your map and then select Embed Link as shown below: Group 63 (49).png
You will see an embedded link. From this link, you only need to copy what is inside the brackets that start with “https”. Do not click Copy HTML , as this will include other parts that are not required. Group 63 (50).png

Embedding a YouTube video

To embed your favorite YouTube video, click the share button located just below your video. Then, select embed as shown below: Group 63 (51).png
From this link, you only need to copy what is inside the brackets that start with “https” . Do not click “Copy” because then you will copy parts that are not needed. Group 63 (52).png

Embedding your Google Drive documents

Embedding your Google Drive documents is a great way to easily collaborate on files with your team right from monday.com!
Open the Google Drive document you want to embed on monday.com. Then, copy the file’s URL directly into the docs view. And that’s it!Screenshot 2024-05-30 at 18.12 1.png
You can read the presentation slide by slide just like in your Drive. You can add comments, share the file with other users, and edit the document all without leaving your monday.com account.

Easily search for files

No need to scroll to find the right document or link! With the search option on the display, find any file you want with a single mouse click Group 63 (53).png

I received an error message while embedding my file.

This can happen for several reasons.

1. The link you are trying to embed is not an embedded link. Always make sure to copy embedded links and not regular URLs (see examples above).

2. On some websites like YouTube, the content creator may or may not allow the embedding option. If you get an error while trying to embed the link, it may be because the content creator has removed this setting from his/her video. You can always contact him/her to change this setting.

3. Some websites do not allow embedding and will not allow you to embed their content from outside at all.

In conclusion, this feature is a must-have for improving your workflow. It allows you to centralize all your documents, videos, and more in one place for better and easier collaboration.
