Did you accidentally delete something from your account? Don’t worry, we’ve got a solution for you! All items, subitems, columns, and groups that were deleted from your boards , as well as shared and private boards and dashboards you’re subscribed to, will appear in the Trash section.

How to approach this

To access the trash section, click on your profile picture in the top right corner and select “Trash” as shown below:

All deleted items, subitems, columns, groups, boards , documents, and dashboards will be stored in the Trash for 30 days , unless you choose to restore them or permanently delete them. After 30 days, the items cannot be restored.

How does it work?

In the Trash section you will find every deleted item, subitem, column, group, board , document, and dashboard. For each one, you can see:

  • the name
  • Type (item, subitem, column, group, board , document, or dashboard)
  • Where was it deleted from?
  • Who deleted it?
  • When was it deleted?

How board permissions affect the content displayed in the trash

  • Ownership of the board

If the board is set to “Only board owners can edit”, and you are not an owner, you will not see items deleted from that board in the trash section. See This article to learn more about it.

  • Hidden columns

If you deleted a column that had permissions to hide the column, users who did not have permission to see the column on the board will not see it in the trash section. You can read This article to learn more about hiding columns.

  • Viewing permissions

If you had viewing permissions to the board when it was active, you will be able to view it within the trash section. However, if you did not have access to the board (i.e., if it was a private board that you were not subscribed to), it will not be visible to you within the trash section.

  • Editing permissions

Similarly, if you had edit permissions to a board , you can restore it from the trash within 30 days of it being deleted. However, if you did not have edit permissions to the board when it was active, you will not be able to restore it from the trash.
