No prior knowledge required
No unnecessary risks
When you complete the SAS® Basics courses, you will demonstrate proficiency in managing and modifying data, integrating SAS datasets, creating basic and summary reports using SAS procedures, and identifying and correcting errors in data, syntax, and programming languages. These skills prepare you for the SAS® Basics Programming Specialist certification exam.
Hands-on Learning Project
In the final course of this professional certificate program, you will complete projects that demonstrate your knowledge of SAS programming. In the first project, you will write programs for each step in the SAS programming process for analyzing passenger claims at airports in the United States. In the second project, you will use your knowledge of the data preparation phase to write programs that reconstruct global tourism data.
Course 1
What you’ll learn
This course is designed for users who want to learn how to write SAS programs to access, explore, prepare, and analyze data. It is an entry-level course in SAS programming for data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. The course is a prerequisite for many other SAS courses.
By the end of this course, you will know how to use SAS Studio to write and submit SAS programs to access SAS, Microsoft Excel, and text data. You will know how to explore and validate data, prepare data by slicing rows and calculating new columns, analyze and report on data, export data and results to other formats, and use the SQL language in SAS to query and join tables.
Learners should have experience using computer software. In particular, you should understand file structures and system commands in your operating systems and accessing data files in your operating systems. No prior experience with SAS is required.
Course 2
What you’ll learn
This course is designed for business analysts and SAS programmers who want to learn data manipulation techniques using the DATA step and procedures to access, manipulate, and summarize data. The course builds on the concepts presented in the “Beginning with SAS Programming” course and is not recommended for novice SAS software users.
In this course, you will learn how to understand and master DATA stage processing, create an aggregate column and process data in batches, manipulate data with functions, change column type, create custom formats, join and merge tables, process recursive code, and rebuild tables. This course applies to the Base SAS software.
Before taking this course, you should be able to write DATA step code to access data, snip rows and columns, calculate new columns, and process data based on conditions. You should also be able to sort tables using SORT procedures and apply SAS formats.
Course 3
What you’ll learn
In this course, you have the opportunity to use the skills you have gained in the two SAS programming courses to solve real-world problems. The course thoroughly prepares you for the SAS programming concepts so that you are ready to take the SAS Certified Certification Exam: Basic Programming with SAS 9.4.
Course 4
What you’ll learn
In this course, you have the opportunity to use the skills you have gained in the two SAS programming courses to solve real-world problems. The course thoroughly prepares you for the SAS programming concepts so that you are ready to take the SAS Certified Certification Exam: Basic Programming with SAS 9.4.
