Internship – a four-part course series

Many diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) courses introduce participants to definitions and concepts that are familiar to the field, but do not provide strategies for implementing these efforts. The Organizational Leadership in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODE&I) specialization introduces concepts and strategies that achieve better DE&I outcomes in organizational planning, content, training, and assessments.

Course Objective

  • To offer emerging DE&I professionals tools, best practices, and strategies for achieving success in DE&I efforts.
  • Regardless of their organization’s position on the DE&I continuum.

Through the perspective of an equal opportunity professional and the use of current events, participants will explore the important components of DE&I excellence and how to manage the shift in approach to social justice and multiple differences within their workforce.

Hands-on Learning Project

The practical projects for this internship will allow participants to practice DE&I tools and best practices by offering the opportunity to develop and implement DE&I strategies within their organizational programs.

Project goals
  • To provide emerging professionals in the DE&I field with an opportunity to launch and develop their own specialized products.
  • Adapt to the unique cultural reality that exists in their workplaces.

At the end of the internship, participants will have a portfolio of work related to DE&I that is expected to include feedback from colleagues, employees, and managers in the DE&I field.
