Capstone: Creating a Sustainability Proposal

Course 4 • 3 hours • 4.8 (48 ratings)

What you’ll learn

Congratulations on arriving at the capstone course of the internship. You will become an ambassador for change in existing businesses. The course will help you apply the material from the previous courses. We have developed a case study on a hypothetical ski resort that offers many opportunities for developing recommendations for sustainability. Another option is to develop a proposal for change in your company or organization. Or you can do both the case study and your proposal.

The goal of the course is to guide you through the complete process from identifying a problem, finding a possible solution, conducting an analysis to determine the economic and environmental impacts of the proposed change, formulating who to present the proposal to and what is required of them to say ‘yes’, and developing a budget and implementation plan.

Of course, this is a big task, but if you have gone through the material in the previous three courses, you should be well equipped for the challenge.

We hope that the concepts and tools we have presented will help you initiate positive change in your company, organization, community, and the world. We have provided only the most basic tools. As you progress, you will upgrade your skills and become more effective. Good luck in all your change efforts.
