There are 6 different places where you can receive notifications from monday.com:
- The monday.com update feed
- Bell symbol
- Your email
- Desktop notifications
- Slack
- Notifications on mobile devices

The update feed
The update feed It’s where you’ll see all the updates from the boards you’re a member of, even if you weren’t specifically mentioned in the update or assigned a task. You can think of it like a news feed, where you can see everything your team has posted on the specific boards.

Bell symbol
The bell icon is where you get all the information that is specifically related to you.
- Appoints you as an administrator (admin) on the account
- Assigns you a task in the People column
- Reminds you in an update or response to an update
- Mention a team you are part of in an update
- Reply to the update you wrote
- Subscribe to an item or board
- Deletes an item or board you are subscribed to
- Stores an item or board you subscribe to
You’ll also receive bell notifications about automations you’ve enabled on your board (learn more below).

Email notifications
By default, all email notifications will be turned on for any new user, but you can update this in your profile settings. You will receive an email notification whenever someone:
- Assigns you a task
- Responding to your update
- Updated on an item you own
- Updated on an item you subscribe to
- Answers a conversation you are part of.
- Registered after you ordered it
- Not registered after you ordered it
- Mentions you in a post or comment
- Board/Item/Team Subscription
- Sign up with an email address from your account domain

Notifications with automations and integrations
- Notifications with automations
With monday.com automations, you can expand and customize the bell and email alerts you and your team receive! Simply set the trigger (the action that needs to be taken) and choose who you want to notify. Here are some examples of automated alerts you can create on your boards:

- Notifications with integrations
To receive and send notifications from monday.com via SMS, you can also use integrations with Twilio. You can choose from the following scripts:

Desktop notifications
You can receive pop-up notifications directly on your desktop, so you don’t miss anything important. They can be very useful if you work outside of monday.com but still want to know when something requires your attention.
To enable desktop notifications, simply follow these steps-
- Click on your profile picture
- Click the Notifications tab.
- Click ” Enable desktop notifications “
To disable desktop notifications, simply follow the same steps, and click “Disable desktop notifications.” You can read more about desktop notifications in this article.
Getting notifications in Slack
Do you find yourself frequently corresponding with your teammates on Slack? Since you check Slack often, wouldn’t it be great if you could also check your important notifications from monday.com there? You can set up an integration that displays your most relevant notifications from monday.com right inside Slack!
To set up your notifications in Slack, follow these steps:
- Click on your profile picture
- Click the Notifications tab.
- Click ” Enable Slack Notifications “
You can also reply to notifications from monday directly in Slack, which improves your communication process!

Mobile notifications
The fourth place to receive notifications is through your mobile device in the iOS and Android apps. These notifications work similarly to other notifications you would receive on your device. Push notifications you would receive on your mobile device will be the equivalent of your doorbell notifications. You can learn more about our mobile devices here.
Silencing the board notifications
Sometimes we don’t want to be notified about actions on every board we subscribe to. Well, we’ve made things a lot better for you. Now, you have the option to mute certain notifications for boards. You can silence notifications from the board itself or directly from your bell notification window!
Click the bell icon to open your notifications window. From there, you can click the three dots to manage all notifications from the board that sent the message. Continue reading this section to learn more about these settings.
Silence from the board
Click on the three-dot menu in the top right corner of your board. Select “Board Notifications” from the drop-down menu as shown below:

Then, select your preferred settings:
- Silence all notifications
- Mentioned and Assigned – Get notifications only when you’ve been mentioned or assigned (to yourself and your team)
- Receive all notifications

If you are a board owner, you can also mute notifications for all board members by turning the button off as shown below:
