Seamlessly connect your monday.com projects with Microsoft Teams with our app! With this amazing feature, you can connect your monday.com boards to selected channels in Microsoft Teams and view them as tabs. Unlike the MS Teams integration, you do not need to be an Office 365 administrator to access and use the app.

To take it even further, use the monday.com bot to get notifications from your favorite boards and turn conversations into actions!

Permissions

To successfully configure the app, you will need to check a few permissions first. There are two permissions that need to be checked:

1. First, check if your board has item-level permissions. If so, make sure the person trying to set up the app has permission to see all the items on the board.
2. Next, check the board permissions. The person trying to configure the app should have permission to change the content and structure of the board.

With these two permissions properly installed, you’re good to go! If not, make sure to make the necessary changes to continue with the installation and see your board in the Microsoft Teams app.

Add your monday.com board to your MS Teams channel

This cool feature allows you to add a board as a tab in the selected channel and enjoy all the features of monday.com.

Step 1 – Install the app

To install the app, please go to the desired channel or conversation and click the ‘+’ icon.

Then, search for and select monday.com. You will then be asked to log in. If you don’t have a monday.com account, you can sign up right there.

And that’s it, you’re ready! Now you can start choosing a board!

Step 2 – Choose a board

Select the board you want to see on the channel.

Or create a new board!

Note: When you create a new board in Microsoft Teams, it will be added to your main workspace on monday.com.

Select the board and add it to the channel as a tab.

Note: There is no limit to the number of boards that can be added as tabs to a particular channel.

Step 3 – Enjoy all the functions

Once your board is added as a tab in your channel, you can use all of our amazing features like automations, integrations, board views, advanced filters, and much more. In fact, you can edit and manage your board, and your teams’ work, right from the comfort of your channel!

Is it possible to get tabs with boards from different accounts on monday.com?

Yes! When you add a new board, you can log out of your monday.com account, log in to another account, and select a board from that account.

Who can see my boards on monday.com that I open?

Everyone in the channel will be able to see the tabs you’ve opened using your boards on monday.com, but only those with access to those boards will be able to see the content of the boards.

If the board is private, anyone not subscribed to the board will be able to see it:

Note: When you add a shareable board or a private board to a channel, the default tab will be the board name. If you don’t want channel members to know the board name, you can change the tab in MS Teams and it won’t affect the board name.

Get notifications from monday.com to MS Teams

With the monday.com bot, you can connect to your monday.com account to receive notifications from selected boards directly to Microsoft Teams. You can also turn conversations into items by creating new items right from the conversation!

Step 1 – Install the bot

To install the bot, please click on the 3-dot menu at the bottom of your conversation/channel, choose to type monday.com

Step 2 – Connecting to monday.com

Go to the conversation feature on the left side of Microsoft Teams, where you will find the monday.com bot conversation.

First, log in to your monday.com account by selecting ‘Member’ or by giving the ‘Login’ command.

Step 3 – monday.com bot commands

If you don’t have a monday.com account and want to use the monday.com bot, you are welcome to use the sign up command and start your free trial with monday.com!

• Add-alert

This command allows you to add notifications from selected monday.com boards. Once you’re logged in, type the command ‘add-notifications’ in the conversation and select the board you want to receive notifications from.

• Remove notifications

This command will allow you to remove notifications from boards on monday.com.

• Create-item

This command will allow you to create items on a selected monday.com board directly from the bot. This is great when you’re brainstorming with your team and need to add items to the action right away!

First of all, you will need to select the board where you want to create the item:

Second, select the group in which you want to create the item and select the item name:

Click “Next” and you’re all set! You can then see your item on Monday’s board by clicking “Open Item” as shown below:

• Disconnect

If you want to disconnect from your monday.com account or switch between monday.com accounts, simply use the logout command. Don’t worry, you can always log back in later.

Search and browse the relevant items and boards

This cool feature allows you to share boards and items from your monday.com account directly in your MS Teams chat or channel!

Open any of your channels and click on the three-dot menu below:

Then, search for the item you want to share on your channel from your monday.com account.

And that’s it, you’re done!

Microsoft Teams integration

The Microsoft Teams app lets you add any of your monday.com boards directly to your Microsoft Teams channels. With this app, you can also customize which notifications from your monday.com boards you want to receive. These notifications will be sent only to you via the monday bot.

• Microsoft Teams integration

Microsoft Teams integration allows you to trigger specific actions when a certain condition is met.

Unlike the Microsoft Teams app, with the Microsoft integration, any activation notification will be sent to the entire channel.
