Map View on monday.com: How to work with geographic data
Do you need to keep track of different locations for work or personal activities? Maybe you have multiple international clients, travel a lot, or like to organize information visually using a map. Managing the logistics of locations can be exhausting and complicated, so let the map view take some of the strain off!
Add a location or country column
First, the map view will show the locations that are in your location column or country column, so make sure to add these columns to your dashboard.

Add a map view to the board
To add the map view to your board, click
option at the top of your board (it will say “Add View” when you hover over it). Select “More Views” and select “Map” from the Views Center. You’ll then be able to see all the locations from your board on the map! The markers on the map are colored according to the board group they belong to:

You can also add a new view to your dashboard by clicking on “Board Extensions.” Click on the three dots in the upper right corner of your screen. Select “Board Extensions,” “Board Views,” and select “Map” from the Views Center:

Add a map view widget to the dashboard
To add a map view widget to your dashboard or dashboard view, click “+ Add Widget” and select “Widget Center.” Search for “Map” and add the widget!

Add and edit items directly from the map!
To add or edit any item directly from the map, select any placemark and click “Show Item.” The item’s pop-up view will open, allowing you to make changes without having to switch back and forth between the main table view and the map view!

To create a new item directly from the map view, simply click the blue “New Item” button at the top left of your screen and fill in the appropriate columns of the new item in its pop-up view!

Set default zoom level
You can now set a default zoom level on your map so you can see all your markers at the perfect distance! Click the three dots in the top right corner of your map to access settings and choose what zoom level you want in the “Zoom Level” section. Enter any number between 1 and 22 (1 is the widest zoom and 22 is the closest zoom). This number will remain the default for your map!
