Project management can be a constant challenge with many tasks. There are always twists and turns that can throw the project off track. One of the most important aspects of your projects is staying on track with your schedule. Using a visual tool to easily understand project duration allows your team to be more aware, and thus more efficient. That’s why we’re excited to introduce our new Critical Path feature in Gantt Chart!

What is a critical path?
A critical path is the longest duration of tasks in your project. A project’s critical path is a useful tool for identifying all the individual tasks that need to be completed in order to finish the project on time. When the path is identified, the project manager will get a very clear picture of the actual completion time of the entire project. A critical path makes it easy to visualize your critical tasks, non-critical tasks, and task dependencies, providing you with the clarity you need to manage your project successfully!
How to add it to your Gantt Chart
Add the critical path by clicking the gear in the upper right corner of the Gantt to access the settings. Scroll down to “Critical Path” and click “Propose Critical Path.” Your project schedule will be highlighted in red to show its critical path – the schedule of events that must be completed on time for the overall project to finish on schedule.

We’re excited to bring you this feature to enhance your project planning and give you a more comprehensive Gantt experience! While it’s important to remember that Critical Path is considered an experimental feature at this time, we’ll keep you updated on which monday.com plans to include it in the future.
