How to import projects from Google Sheets to monday.com

With a simple click, you can now import all your projects from Google Sheets into your monday.com account!
How does it work?
To access this import, go to the character icon on the top right side of your screen.> Select Import Data . From this menu, click Google Sheets.

Once you’ve selected Google Sheets, you’ll need to connect your Google Drive to monday.com. Click Sign in and select the Google account you want to use. Once connected, you can access the sheet you want to import.
Now select a file from your drive that you want to import. This file will create a new board in your monday.com account.

Settings
Next, you will need to configure the import through a series of 3 questions.
First – map the row you want to be the first row of the new board. If it is not the row marked by default, you can select a different row by clicking on it. Once selected, click Next.

Second, which column should be the first column in the table? Select the desired column and click Next.

Finally, set the column type for each column you import.

Select ‘Create Board’ and Ta-da! You have a new board that is the file you imported from Google Sheets.
monday.com enables organizations to manage complex projects by integrating data from disparate sources. For example, teams can import data from Google Sheets to track project progress, analyze trends, and collaborate in real time with other team members.
Limitations
- The import limit is 3,000 rows and 20 columns. If your file is larger than this, the import will be truncated at this limit.
- When you log in to monday.com, you can change the column types in your imported table. To do this, go to the column category> Select the down arrow to activate the column menu.> Select ‘Change Column Type’> and select the columns available for modification.
- Import creates a new table in your account. If you want to import into an existing table, you can do so by importing directly from the table. This import supports adding new items to the table, but not fully mapping the columns. Go to the ‘New Item’ button> Down arrow> Import items> Copy and paste a list of items to import from your Google Sheets.
