You already have a clear and organized workflow in your monday.com account, but what about all those meetings and reminders in your external calendar? We’ll show you how to sync all your items and tasks with your external calendar, so you can see everything in one place. Read on to find out how to use them with our Google Calendar integration!
Let’s begin.
There are two ways to connect your monday.com account with Google Calendar:
- Two-way sync – meaning if something updates in your external calendar, it will also update in your monday.com account (and vice versa)
- One-way synchronization – which will allow you to view the dates from your dashboard directly in the calendar.
Two-way synchronization
- Step 1 – Add a date column and find the integration recipes
First, make sure your dashboard has a Date Column and start filling in all your data. Then, open the Integration Center located in the top right corner of your dashboard and select “Google Calendar”:

There, you’ll find three separate Google integration recipes. You’ll need to add two recipes to your board for two-way sync to work:
- One who created a Google Calendar event based on an action on monday.com
- One that creates an item based on a new event in Google Calendar
- Step 2 – Add your first recipe and connect your account
Choose a recipe that will build a Google Calendar event based on an item on your calendar (one of the two described above).

Then, if you haven’t connected your Google account yet, you’ll see the following screen prompting you to connect. Click “Connect” to continue.
Then, on the next screen that appears, make sure to select both checkboxes as shown below. This will allow monday.com the necessary permissions to connect with your Google account and allow your information to sync between the two platforms properly.

- Step 3 – Define the first integration recipe
Once you’ve finished connecting your account, you’ll be directed to the recipe you selected. There, click on the highlighted fields in the recipe to set it up. In our example below, we selected the “Event” field to map how the event will appear in Google Calendar based on the columns in our calendar.

- Step 4 – Add the second recipe and configure it
Now that your first recipe is complete, which will insert an event in your Google Calendar based on an item in your calendar, it’s time to add the second recipe, which will create an item in your calendar based on an event in your Google Calendar.

This time, select the “Item” field and map how you would like a new item to be created on your calendar based on the events from Google Calendar that will be added.

Step 5 – Watch the magic happen!
With both Google Calendar integration recipes set up, you should have full two-way sync! Now, any new item created or assigned to a specific person will appear as an event on the connected calendar and any new event on the calendar will materialize as an item on your calendar.
Integration column
When you add any Google Calendar integration recipe, an integration column will automatically be added to your calendar with a link to each event on Google Calendar. Clicking a link here will take you directly to the event on your calendar!

One-way synchronization
Syncing your calendar with Google Calendar will allow all dates from your calendar to appear directly on your calendar. The one-way sync is from Monday to Google so if you update something in Google Calendar, it will not be reflected in your Monday calendar.
- Step 1
First, make sure your dashboard has a Date Column or Timeline Column. Once you’ve filled in all your data in a Date Column or Timeline Column, you’re ready to sync your dashboard. Click the arrow on the right side of your column, select Settings, and then “Date Column Customization” as shown below:

- Step 2
Google Calendar is the default calendar, so it already appears here under “Sync column with calendar.” All you have to do here is click “Sync”:

- Step 3
This window will appear, allowing us to choose whether we want to sync only the “items assigned to me” or “all items on this board.” Once the option is selected, we simply have to click “Sync” and you’re done!

- Step 4
Enable reminders for your tasks! Go to your Google Calendar settings, and within “Event Settings” choose between “Desktop Notifications” and “Alerts”!
Remove integration with Google Calendar
If at any point you would like to remove your monday.com items from Google Calendar, you can simply follow these simple steps:
1. Click this link to open your Google Calendar permission settings.
2. Scroll until you see “Third-party apps with account access” and click “Manage third-party access”:

3. Click “monday.com has access to Google Calendar” to manage these preferences
4. Finally, click “Remove Access,” and our monday.com account will be disconnected from our Google Calendar.
