Board Owner Roles on monday.com: How to Manage Ownership and Roles
Who owns the board?
You can think of a board owner as having a “superuser” role on the board — someone who can perform certain actions that others on the board may not be able to. In this article, we’ll learn about:

- How to take ownership of a board from someone who left the team
By default, the person who created the board will be the first board owner. From there, the first board owner can also choose to grant ownership to other board subscribers if they wish! Board owners can identify themselves by clicking the “Invite” icon at the top of the board. Each board owner will have a small blue crown to the right of their name.

What can the board owner do?
In short, only board owners can:
- Set or adjust all board permissions or column permissions. Additionally, any board/column permissions set will not apply to board owners.
- Restore a previously archived table
- Edit, delete, or schedule existing automations or shekels (in addition to the creator of those automations/shekels)
- Make changes to all scheduled boards
- Designate other board members as board owners
Adding/removing board owners
If you are the owner of your board, you can add or remove other board owners simply by clicking the crown icon next to the username to turn it blue to add them as a board owner, or gray to remove them as a board owner!
