With Word Cloud, you can transform the textual data in your dashboard into meaningful visualizations that allow you to analyze the information in depth and communicate key information when needed.

how does it work

Word clouds help turn textual databases into insights by presenting the key terms from your texts in a stunning visual representation. Words that appear more often will be highlighted and larger. So these terms will appear on your board. With a quick swipe over the word cloud, you can gain key insights!

How to add this to your board and dashboard

Board view

To add the word cloud view to your board, click the plus sign next to the “Homeboard” button at the top of your board. Click “Apps” and then “Explore More Apps,” which will take you to the Views Center.

In the Views Center, search for “Word Cloud” and add it to your board.

Dashboard widget

To add the word cloud to your dashboard, click the “Add Widget” button on the top left of your dashboard. Click “More Widgets” which will take you to the widget center.

In the widget center, search for “Word Cloud” and add it to your dashboard.

Once this is complete, your word cloud will appear on the screen, and you can start customizing it according to your needs.

How to customize it

With these options, you can ensure that not only will the word cloud allow you to better analyze your data and see trends, but you can also play with settings to create the beautiful visual representation you are looking for.

Select the columns you want to analyze

By default, the word cloud will pull data from your item names. You can adjust this to highlight important textual data from one of the other columns in your board.

For the word cloud widget, you will need to choose which column to analyze from each board you are connected to.

Select the maximum number of words.

With this setting, you can choose exactly how many words you want your word cloud to include.

Select the interval

Whether you want the words to be closer together or farther apart, your word cloud can do it all.

Choose the size difference between words

Sometimes you may want certain words to stand out more while others don’t. Here, you can choose how much difference you want between the words in the word cloud.

Note: Large, prominent texts will always indicate texts that appear frequently in the specific column.

Choose your font

You can choose from several different fonts for your word cloud to match its appearance to all your presentations!

Twist your words just right

You can determine how much you want to rotate the text in your word cloud to suit your exact design needs.

0 degrees will cause all words to be aligned straight, while 180 degrees will cause them to be completely upside down.

Choose the variety of rounds

Don’t want all words to appear in the same rotation? This is the place to set that.

1= No variety; 5 = Maximum variety

Add or remove linked boards

The word cloud widget allows you to connect multiple panels together to analyze the textual data from your entire account and extract valuable insights.

You can choose which panels to analyze, by using the following settings option:

Tip: Hover over a word with your mouse to see how many times it appears in the column you selected.

How to filter your word cloud

You can filter your word cloud using the board and widget filters. This is a great way to display the exact information you need. Let’s say we want to see only the tasks that have not yet been completed.

By selecting the relevant groups and modes, the filters will also narrow down all the words that appear in my word cloud. You can also select “Switch to advanced filters” to find more filtering options.

How to change display settings

In the board view, you can choose whether you want your view to be in full view or split view. By choosing split view, you can see both the word cloud and the board itself in the same view as below:

How to rename your word cloud

You can always change the name of your word cloud view by simply clicking on the cloud name and typing in a new name you would like to give it.

With your word cloud, you can now transform the textual data collected in your dashboards into beautiful visual representations to better understand the data, track trends, and highlight all the key information!
