Want to get a quick view and total from your number columns on your boards? Managing budgets across multiple boards and need to see the total cost for all your projects? Our numbers widget in your dashboard can help you with just that!

Adding a widget

Click “Add Widget” at the top of the dashboard page to see the list of options and select “Numbers”, as shown below:

Choose your boards

Now, you will be asked to select the boards you want to display in your numbers widget:

You can choose up to a certain number of boards depending on your plan. Check out this article for more information.

Settings

You can customize the information your Numbers widget displays. You can switch between “Count” and “Columns” to decide whether your widget will calculate a specific mathematical function based on data from your numbers column or count items and/or sub-items.

If you select “Columns”, you can select the specific column of numbers or the column of subitem numbers you want to count in each table under “Choose which columns to include”.

You can customize your result to suit your needs under “Additional settings.” You can choose whether to display the amount, average, or a specific currency, for example.

Finally, select the specific groups from the boards you selected. This is great if you want to see a specific group, or all of your groups together!

Tip: If you have multiple projects with different budgets, you can use the widget to see the total expenses each month. This will help you identify budget overruns in real time!

Use

Let’s say you run an events company. You can create one widget to track the budget for all events for a month. In this case, we have 3 widgets where we can see the total budget for January, February, and March for all our events.

The Numbers Widget is great for getting a complete picture of your projects’ numerical status and keeping track of total costs or numbers across multiple boards in one place! Use as many widgets as you want to organize all your information in an accessible and organized way!
