Internship – Series of 3 courses

Against Racism is a three-course specialization designed for anyone interested in learning about race and racism, especially in the context of the United States, wants to become an advocate against racism, or aspires to incorporate anti-racist actions into their daily lives.

Courses:

  • Against Racism I: An Introduction to Critical Race Theory and Racism in the United States.
  • Against Racism II: An exploration of the historical and linguistic constructions of race and racism, including intersectionality theory. The course includes an interview project.
  • Against Racism III: Applying theory to practice, creating a plan for anti-racist actions, and developing a community engagement project.

Hands-on Learning Project

Learn, Speak, Act! The Anti-Racism assignments and projects guide you from the basics of discourse on race and racism to a more reasoned and informed conversation about identity in your cultural context. The internship culminates in an invitation to consider how to be an anti-racism advocate and challenges you to design a community engagement project that fits your circumstances and skills.
