Internship – 4-part course series

This internship is for you if you are interested in learning more about the more advanced components of Six Sigma and Lean. Six Sigma skills are in high demand by employers both in Israel and internationally. These skills have been proven to improve work processes, performance, and quality assurance.

In this specialization, you will learn proven principles and tools related to Six Sigma and Lean.

This is a sequential and structured specialization that offers more advanced content (“green belt” level) of Six Sigma and Lean. Yellow Belt knowledge is required before advancing to Green Belt (which is the second specialization offered here on Coursera by USG). Green Belt knowledge is required before moving to Black Belt.

The correct order of this specialization is:

  • Course #1 – Six Sigma and the Organization (Advanced)
  • Course #2 – The Advanced Definition and Measurement Phase of Six Sigma
  • Course #3 – The Advanced Analysis Phase of Six Sigma
  • Course #4 – The Advanced Improvement and Control Phase of Six Sigma

At the end of Course #4 (Six Sigma Advanced Improvement and Control Phase), there is a peer-reviewed final project. Successful completion of this project is required for full completion of this specialization.

It is important to note that completing a Yellow Belt or Green Belt specialization does not grant the learner a “professional certification” in Six Sigma, but it may help in better preparation for such professional certification exams.

Hands-on Learning Project

Upon completion of this internship, learners will produce:

  • Project opening document
  • Project Team Opening Document
  • Data collection plan
  • Process map
  • Control plan
  • Null and alternative hypotheses
  • Problem statement
  • Business case
  • Statement of purpose
  • Process description
  • Time range

All of these will be created using the Six Sigma principles and tools they learned.
