Internship – a three-part course series

Marketing data is complicated and contains dimensions that complicate analysis. Unstructured data sets are often so large that qualitative insights cannot be extracted from them. Marketing data is also relational and connected. This specialization deals with advanced advertising and marketing analysis through three advanced methods that aim to solve these problems:

  • Text classification
  • Topic Text Model
  • Semantic Web Analysis

Each key area includes an in-depth look at leading computer science methods designed to solve these problems using Python.

Academic degree

This specialization is available as an academic degree as part of CU Boulder’s Master of Science in Data Science (MS-DS) offered on Coursera. The MS-DS is an interdisciplinary degree that brings together faculty from CU Boulder’s centers of learning in applied mathematics, computer science, information science, and more.

Admission requirements
  • Performance-based admission
  • No application process

The MS-DS is ideal for individuals with a broad background in disciplines such as computer science, data science, mathematics, and statistics. For more information about the MS-DS program, visit https://www.coursera.org/degrees/master-of-science-data-science-boulder .

Applied Learning Project

Students explore conceptual overviews of text classification, text topic modeling, and semantic network analysis and delve into practical datasets through instructor-led tutorials. Students also complete a major project for each of the key methods.
