Are you required to give presentations at school or work? Is it stressful? You’ve come to the right place. Everyone gets a little nervous when they have to stand in front of others and speak intelligently. This course will give you helpful tips for creating effective speeches and delivering them successfully in typical American environments. You’ll learn how to organize a presentation, how to make it memorable, and how to communicate clearly. During the course, you’ll have several opportunities to demonstrate the presentation skills you’ve learned. This will help you gain the experience you need to be more confident when giving a speech in an American classroom or at work.
Learners will record several videos of themselves delivering their assigned presentations and upload the videos for feedback from friends.

This is the third course in the series “Learn English: Advanced Speaking and Listening”. In this class, you will learn about different types of conversations you will have in academic environments. You will also learn strategies to help you understand the meaning of what others are saying and to help you express yourself effectively. Learners will record several videos of themselves participating in group discussions with friends and upload the videos for feedback from peers. Although it may seem intimidating, this will be a great opportunity for you to practice and improve your discussion skills.
Please note that the free version of the course provides access to all videos and resources. Feedback from peers and exams are only available in the paid version.
Learners will present a well-organized academic speech on an academic topic of their choice. The learner will need to recall all the skills learned in the previous three courses and perform a number of steps to complete the project. The learner will choose an academic topic and then conduct research, interview several experts in the field, create visual elements, and record a video of the presentation. The presenter will use presentation preparation and practice techniques and demonstrate effective nonverbal speaking and illustration skills. This will help you prepare for presentations at school or at work.
