How does a backlink checker work?
What is the Backlink Audit tool?
The Backlink Audit tool allows you to examine your domain’s inbound link profile to help you understand which links may be positively or negatively impacting your rankings. The tool provides a process for reviewing all links, analyzing the toxic signals associated with suspicious links, sending emails to website owners, and requiring a disavow file to submit to Google.
Key Features of Backlink Audit
- Integration with Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and Majestic to ensure the most accurate information about inbound links
- Filters and sorting to quickly identify harmful links
- Email integration to manually request website owners to remove links in severe cases
- Ability to create a disavow file and remove your site’s association with any potentially harmful links
- “Lost & Found” report to track new and lost links over time
How to use the Backlink Audit tool?
If you find that you have a number of suspicious links, you can use the Backlink Audit tool to analyze them and decide if you need to disavow them. This tells Google not to consider these links in your domain’s ranking. You can manage all your links in one place by integrating with Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and Majestic. This saves you time on link management!
[note_box] Tip: When sending removal requests to publishers, try to be polite and explain why you’re requesting the removal. This can increase the likelihood that they’ll respond positively. [/note_box]
Deleting campaigns
When you want to delete a specific tool in a project, you will need to delete the entire project . This will prevent all other campaigns defined in that project.
For example, if you want to delete a Backlink Audit campaign. When you delete the project, you will also delete the Position Tracking campaign, Site Audit, Social Tracker, or other tools within the project.
Projects cannot be restored after they are deleted , so it is important to be careful when deleting a project. Delete a project only if you are absolutely sure that the data will be deleted permanently.
Link collection
When the tool collects information about inbound links from our database, it can collect information about up to 500 links from a single referring domain.
When connected to a Majestic profile, the tool can collect information on up to 10 links from a single referring domain.
When uploading/importing a link file to this tool, the file can be up to 50 MB in size. Larger files will not be able to be uploaded.
When you connect an email account to this tool to make link removal requests, you will be limited to 500 emails sent per day from the associated account. This limit is divided between all of your projects that have the same email connected to a Backlink Audit or Link Building Tool campaign. At this time, Backlink Audit connects to Gmail, Outlook, Office365, and Exchange Online.
