Enhance your career with Six Sigma knowledge. Learn proven principles and tools to improve quality assurance in your organization.
Suggested by: Coursera (What is Coursera?)
No prior knowledge required
No unnecessary risks
This specialization is for you if you are interested in learning more about the Six Sigma method or renewing your knowledge of the basic components of the Six Sigma and Lean methods. Six Sigma skills are in high demand by employers both in Israel and abroad. These skills have been proven to help improve business processes, performance, and quality control. As part of this specialization, you will learn proven principles and tools designed for Six Sigma and Lean.
This is a continuously and linearly designed specialization that covers introductory (“yellow belt” level) content of the Six Sigma and Lean methodology. Yellow belt knowledge is required before advancing to green belt (which is the second specialization offered here on Coursera by the USG). Green belt knowledge is required before moving to black belt.
At the end of Course #4 (Six Sigma Tools for Improvement and Control), you will be required to complete a final peer-reviewed project. Successful completion of this project is necessary to fully complete the internship.
It should be noted that completing one of the Yellow Belt or Green Belt specializations does not grant the learner a “professional certification” in Six Sigma. However, successfully completing the specialization will help in better preparation for such professional certification exams.
Upon completion of the internship, learners will have created a project goals list, team map, data collection plan, process map, along with null and alternative hypotheses, problem statement, business case, objective statement, process and scope description, and schedule. All of these will be produced using the Six Sigma principles and tools they learned.
