Recruiting and working with Shopify Partners
The Partner Guide connects you with Shopify partners that you can hire to perform complex tasks related to building your business.
When you approach a partner, you are under no obligation to hire them. You decide if you want to work with them.
Planning to contact a partner
Before you engage with a partner, it’s important to prepare by clearly defining the job requirements. Consider the following best practices when planning to hire a partner:
- Introduce relevant business or technical terms to facilitate effective communication with the partner.
- Conduct preliminary research to gather insights and examples from similar businesses to clarify your needs.
- Define the budget, schedule, and expected results in detail to allow the partner to provide an accurate quote.
[note_box] Tip: When setting your budget, also consider additional costs like maintenance or future upgrades. This can help avoid unpleasant surprises later. [/note_box]
Finding partners
To find a partner, browse the partner directory and explore the available services.
You can use the following filter options to refine your search based on criteria:
- Accepting new customers
- Price range in USD
- Services offered
- Location
- Industry
- Spoken languages
You can also sort the results based on the partner’s average rating or service prices.
[fact_box] Interesting use: Shopify partners can help you not only build an online store, but also optimize the user experience, create personalized marketing content, and even manage social media advertising campaigns. [/fact_box]
Contacting partners
Once you’ve found a partner you want to work with, you can contact them via the Contact button on the partner’s profile. You must be logged in to your Shopify account to contact a partner.
Fill out the form provided with your contact information and a comprehensive overview of the assistance required, including store information, service details, budget, and problem description.
When you contact a partner, information about your request is sent to the partner as an email.
[note_box] Tip: When filling out the form, be as clear and precise as possible. This will help the partner understand your needs and provide a more appropriate offer. [/note_box]
Working with partners
Once the partner responds to your inquiry, discuss preferred collaboration methods and tools. For example, the partner may require access to your store through a collaborator account to perform certain tasks.
When your work is complete, or at another time agreed upon with the partner, the partner will bill you directly, and these charges will not appear in your Shopify account.
Partner Review
You accept review requests if the following conditions are met:
- The partner has been added as a store collaborator.
- A collaborator’s approach has been active for a week or more.
- The partner is listed in the partner directory.
To submit a review, select the relevant service and rate the quality of the partner’s work and communication. You can also include a comment if you wish. Reviews will appear on the partner’s profile in the Partner Directory within 48 hours of being submitted by an eligible merchant in the paid program.
[note_box] Tip: When writing a review, be honest and detailed. This not only helps the partner improve, but also helps others choose the right partner for them. [/note_box]
Ending cooperation with a partner
If you no longer need assistance from the collaborator, remove their account. Otherwise, if a collaborating user hasn’t logged into your store for 90 days, their access will automatically expire.
