Internship – Series of 3 courses

As cameras become more common, there are endless opportunities for image and photography processing. This specialization is for engineers and scientists who need to analyze, design, and build systems using images or photographs.

Practical applications

  • How fast is the polar ice cap melting?
  • Does an MRI image indicate a healthy brain?
  • Are there any large cracks in the building that need repair?
  • What is the traffic flow during peak hours during the day?

You will use MATLAB throughout your internship. MATLAB is the tool of choice for millions of people working in engineering and science, providing the functionality you need to perform your image processing tasks. You will be given free access to MATLAB throughout your internship to complete your work.

Hands-on Learning Project

Learners will analyze satellite imagery to determine the amount of ice melt, find large cracks in concrete that need repair, and share MRI images of the brain. In the final project, learners will analyze road traffic by identifying and counting the number of cars in each frame of a noisy video.
