Internship – 3-part course series

The European Union is one of the world’s leading and most important economies. This specialization includes three courses that will teach students the fundamentals of European business law.

Courses:

• Course One: Understanding the Basics
  • Examining the main structures of the European Union.
  • The main sources of law.
  • Understanding relevant laws and regulations regarding the internal market.
  • Basic principles in the legal framework of the European Union.
  • Use of freedom of movement rules and their effects.
• Course Two: Doing Business in Europe
  • Laws that govern the establishment and management of a business in the European Union.
  • Establishing agreements within the European Union.
  • Understanding company formation and analyzing legal rulings.
• Third Course: Competition in Europe
  • Dealing with the internal market and protecting the product and brand.
  • Protection and preservation of inventions and products.
  • Creating a competitive advantage and implementing the principles of competition law.

Hands-on Learning Project

Students will learn the basics of European business law to start a business and compete in the EU internal market. The training includes three tasks, one in each course:

• First course: Writing an article on European Union legislation and rulings supporting the free movement of goods.
• Second Course: Case Report on the Case of Congress v. Kerhan.
• Third course: Creating an objective legal memorandum based on a fictitious scenario.
