Changing direction: solutions to climate change

Course 1 • 19 hours

Course details:

This first course begins students’ learning journey to discover the climate crisis. We begin by exploring the science, including the human contribution to the crisis. Our first solution will focus on social change and the leadership role each of us can play in solving the climate crisis.

Course 2 • 13 hours

Course details:

Solutions to climate change must be approached at local, regional, national, and international levels. In the second course, we look at California as a model and analyze energy, power generation, and transportation issues. We also broaden our perspective and explore a variety of international efforts.

Course 3 • 15 hours

Course details:

In the third course, we build on the scientific framework and the complex approach to solutions to emphasize the importance of an international approach. We explore the challenges of implementation, along with practical techniques for dealing with the obstacles.
