An engineering manager spends most of their day interacting with others. Studies have repeatedly shown the impact of communication skills on the ability of management leaders to succeed or fail. Often, people enter management roles without being aware of the need to improve their skills in this area.
The goal of the course is to help the engineering manager excel in his communications responsibilities.
This specialization is available for academic credit as part of CU Boulder’s Master of Engineering in Engineering Management (ME-EM) degree, offered on the Coursera platform. The ME-EM degree is designed to help engineers, scientists, and technology professionals transition into leadership and management roles in engineering and technology fields.

Communication, of course, is not just theoretical. In this course, you will be asked to have live conversations with people outside the course and describe the impact of different techniques and approaches. You will also participate in discussions with peers to reinforce critical concepts and help you relate the material to your own situation and experience.
