At its core, the law deals with many aspects of entrepreneurship, making it a versatile and applied subject of study. For new entrepreneurs, it is important to understand how to start a business, work with first customers, and recruit employees. For active entrepreneurs, there are critical considerations in the areas of labor law, operating policies, and contract management. For everyone, the role of the law in running a company and the risks associated with it must be properly understood in order to face challenges and seize opportunities.
In each course, learners explore real-life scenarios and deal with legal and business issues in a practical way. Learners will develop an understanding of what legal activities they can undertake on their own, as well as when and how to choose and work with a lawyer.
Learners will develop projects in each course to apply their knowledge of new venture formation, intellectual property management, and contracts and financing arrangements. These projects may be carried out in real-world contexts for learners developing or managing a new venture.
