This course provides students with the basic knowledge required to work with the Junos operating system and configure Junos devices.
Students will gain experience in configuring and monitoring the Junos operating system and monitoring basic device operations.
What You’ll Learn In this course, you’ll delve into the design and architecture of Junos OS, the operating system used by Juniper’s routing, switching, and security products. The course will explore the Junos Command Line Interface (CLI) for configuring, managing, and processing Junos OS-powered devices. It will also examine the J-Web interface as a graphical user interface (GUI) for configuring, managing, and monitoring Junos OS devices.
You will then be exposed to initial system configuration tasks and some basic interface configurations. A brief look at Juniper hardware and software products will also be provided.
What you will learn in this course, we will explain basic routing concepts including routing policies, routing and forwarding tables, routing instances, and routing configuration basics in Junos OS. This course will also explain the concepts and basics of user authentication configuration, the different types of interfaces found on network devices, configuration archiving, configuration and analysis of system logging and tracing, and configuration of SNMP for collecting and organizing information about managed devices.
Additional operational monitoring and maintenance tasks will also be examined, including password recovery and how to upgrade Junos OS.
What you will learn in this course The course will describe some advanced Junos OS concepts such as firewall filters and their use to protect devices from unusual traffic. An overview of the benefits and purpose of Class of Service (CoS) will be provided along with the implementation of traffic classification, queuing, and scheduling.
Juniper Technical Assistance Center (JTAC) best practices will also be explained along with Juniper tools available online to assist in managing and supporting Juniper products. The course will conclude with a discussion of Juniper security component concepts.
