Internship – Series of 3 courses

The “Caring for Others” specialization examines how society cares for its members who are at risk, as well as the experiences of caregivers. This specialization addresses questions such as:

  • How much suffering is there in the world today?
  • Does digital media exacerbate or alleviate the suffering of others who are far away?
  • What different types of care work are there?
  • How do visitors to the care sector manage their emotions?

This specialization is relevant to people who are interested in becoming aid professionals, as well as anyone who hopes to improve and better understand the human condition.

Professional training

This internship can be completed for professional nursing training hours. The University of Colorado College of Nursing is approved as a provider for professional nursing certification by the Colorado Nursing Association.

The offer includes up to 37.5 contact hours provided by the Continuing Education Office of the College of Nursing at the University of Colorado. Each course provides 12.5 contact hours.

If you are an educator, you are eligible to receive 2 university credits in teaching from the University of Colorado Boulder.

Hands-on Learning Project

Learners will complete 3 short reflective papers during this internship, tailored to their interests and professional goals. Learners are invited to explore a number of controversies within the field of care and the helping professions, including:
