Internship – a four-part course series

Learn how to engage your students and enhance learning in math and science using free virtual labs and simulations from the University of Colorado Boulder’s PhET Interactive Simulations project. In this internship, you’ll discover active learning strategies that you can incorporate into your classroom, whether it’s virtual or physical.

This internship will last approximately 8 weeks (with a recommendation of 2 weeks for each course) and will require 60 hours of work to complete, and includes four courses:

  • Introduction to PhET Simulations for STEM Education
  • PhET with the whole class for STEM education
  • Preparing activities with PhET simulations for STEM education
  • Applying PhET Activities to STEM Education

This specialization is also available in English as “Active Learning in STEM with PhET Interactive Simulations” and in Spanish as “Aprendizaje Activo STEM con Simulaciones Interactivas PhET.”

Digital learning project

In this course plan, you will use PhET simulations to design three different activities with whole-class teaching strategies, an activity sheet, and a complete lesson plan to implement with your students or classmates.
