Learn how to engage your students and promote learning in math and science using free virtual labs and simulations from the PhET Interactive Simulations project at the University of Colorado Boulder. During this internship, you will explore active learning strategies that can be incorporated into your classroom, whether virtual or physical.
This internship will last 8 weeks (with a recommendation of 2 weeks per course) and will require 60 hours of work to complete. It includes four courses:
The PhET Interactive Simulations project, founded in 2002 by Nobel Prize winner in Physics Carl Wyman, creates free science and math simulations that are based on extensive educational research on the design of virtual tools for education.
During this internship, you will use PhET simulations to design three different activities with teaching strategies for the entire lesson, action waves, and a complete lesson plan to implement with your students or friends.
