This guide explains how to troubleshoot issues using the Tradeshooter on iOS and Android apps. The troubleshooter highlights common reasons why the bot fails to execute trades.

Do you have an active subscription ?

There are two situations in which you may encounter this error:

  1. You already have a subscription, but it is connected to the wrong trading bot. If you encounter this issue, click on your bot name at the top of the Locations screen and look for the bot with the active subscription. Then click on “Settings,” go to “Baseconfig,” and select “Basic Settings.” Click on “Move to Another Bot” and select the bot you wish to use.
  2. You do not have a valid subscription. You can purchase a subscription through the app or on their website. Purchasing a subscription through their website may be 30% cheaper because the costs of Google and Apple services are not considered.

Each subscription allows one trading bot with real funds and one Paper Trading bot.

Is the bot active ?

If the bot is disabled, it can be enabled by going to the basic settings of the Baseconfig and turning “Bot Enable” off or on.

Are buying and selling enabled ?

Both buying and selling can be enabled by going to the basic settings of the Baseconfig and turning “Buying Enable” and “Selling Enable” off or on.

Triggers can disable buying or selling, and may be included in a bot template purchased from the Cryptohopper Marketplace . Triggers are not customizable in apps, so please check www.cryptohopper.com .

Does the bot have configuration errors ?

Check the error messages and adjust the configuration settings. If the error message is unclear, contact support for assistance in resolving the configuration issue.

Basically, the errors are related to buy order amounts that are too low or API Key errors. It is recommended to trade at least $10. When dealing with API Key errors, please refer to your exchange’s documentation articles.

Can the bot withdraw balances/assets ?

If your balances are empty or have not been withdrawn yet, this could indicate that your API Keys or their permissions are incorrect, or that you have not deposited funds into your exchange yet. Some exchanges differentiate between different types of wallets. Make sure your funds are in the trading wallet. There are detailed guides on how to create API Keys. Please note that these articles are intended for use on their website, but the process itself is the same.

Do you have enough funds for the minimum purchase amount ?

  • Buy Amount as a Percentage: Specify the size of each buy order as a percentage of your total assets. If it falls below the exchange’s “Minimum Amount per Order”, that minimum amount will be used instead. When your available funds are insufficient, the bot will use the funds it has available.
  • Minimum Order Amount: Set the minimum amount to place each buy order. If the “Percentage Buy Amount” is not specified, the bot will use this value. Make sure it meets or exceeds the minimum amount for your exchange and the currency being converted. The bot will ignore the minimum when your available funds are insufficient, and will use its available funds instead.
  • Force minimum purchase amount: When this is enabled, the bot will not place orders if your funds are not sufficient for the minimum purchase amount.
  • Maximum Allocated Amount: Define the maximum amount the bot can use from your total assets. For example, if you have 10,000 USDT and you set a maximum threshold of 5,000 USDT, the bot will only use 5,000 USDT for trading, leaving the rest unchanged. The bot calculates the total assets minus the allocated funds. If the total amount is less than the allocated amount, the bot will use smaller amounts for new orders. The bot considers the positions as an investment (allocated) when the funds are not available in your converter currency.

Does the bot have unsynced locations ?

Unsynced positions are positions that are available on your exchange but do not appear in your Cryptohopper dashboard. If you do not wish to trade these positions but still want to see them in your Cryptohopper dashboard, you can sync these positions and save or dedicate space to them by clicking on the position.

The difference is that when you hold a position, the bot will not trade it, but it will appear under the open positions. When you dedicate a position, the bot will also not trade it, but it will appear under the dedicated funds tab.

Do you have a strategy or signal configuration ?

There are several ways to open a trade automatically, and you can use more than one source at a time. If you are using TradingView Alerts to open a trade without a strategy or signal, you can ignore the error in the Troubleshooter.

If you are only using a strategy or signal, you can also ignore the error message.

When using the strategy, the frequency of buy or sell triggers depends on the settings of the indicators in the strategy. Using large candles on long time frames results in fewer trades, while small candles on short time frames create more trades. Learn more about creating a trading strategy or finding a good strategy on the Marketplace .

When using a signal, make sure that the signals are sent to the selected exchange, the converter currency, and the currencies selected in your Baseconfig. You can check this in the signal’s market performance report.

Have you added the following IP addresses to your exchange’s whitelist ?

Most exchanges on Cryptohopper allow IP whitelisting, which ensures that transactions only originate in your exchange account from Cryptohopper servers, thus increasing the level of security. Although not all exchanges require IP whitelisting by default, it is recommended that you do so. Information on how to whitelist IP addresses for your exchange can be found by clicking on the relevant guide.

Always contact support when you have questions; they will be happy to provide answers.
