Notifications are divided into Web notifications (pop-up) & Offline email notifications (email to your mailbox). You can also choose a notification sound for each notification type on the right. We will clarify offline email notifications later in this article.

Offline email notifications

To start receiving offline email notifications, check the boxes under the Email column in the Settings section.> Notifications . The offline email notification option allows you to receive your website visitors’ leads directly to your email when you are logged in as unavailable or set as offline in the Tidio dashboard.

In offline email notifications, there is a 5-minute delay counted from the last message received. This is done to prevent all messages from being sent in separate emails. Instead, the system will collect all messages written in the chat and send them all to you in one email.

Email notifications are always sent to the email address you used to create your Tidio account. However, if you would like to add an additional email to continue receiving emails to a different personal email address, you can enable the Forward Email Notifications option and add different email addresses manually.

If you’ve turned on notifications but are still having problems, open the Notifications troubleshooting center in Settings> Notifications in your Tidio app.

You can download the Tidio desktop app on your Windows and Mac computers. We explain how to download the Tidio desktop app in detail in our article on installing the desktop app.

Once you have installed the Tidio desktop app, setting up notifications for the app is similar to your notification settings in the browser panel.

To configure Tidio desktop app notifications, go to Settings> Notifications in the Tidio desktop app section. The settings in our desktop app are similar to the settings in our web dashboard.

The importance of notifications

Notifications are an essential tool for any business that wants to stay in touch with its customers. They allow customer service managers to be up-to-date at any given moment on any customer inquiry or question. This is a cardinal component of quality customer service.

Improving customer service

With notifications, you can respond quickly to customer inquiries, leading to significant improvements in customer service. Customers expect a quick response, and if they don’t get it, they may look elsewhere for solutions.

Customer satisfaction

Fast and efficient customer service increases customer satisfaction. When customers feel like they are getting quick answers to their questions, they tend to feel more satisfied with your service. This can lead to repeat customers and a better reputation for your business.

Building loyalty

Satisfied customers tend to be more loyal. When you provide them with fast, quality service, they will feel obligated to come back to you in the future. This loyalty can lead to additional revenue and business growth.

Reducing response time

By using notifications, you can reduce your response time to customer inquiries. This is a significant advantage, especially in the digital age where customers expect instant responses.

Best practices

To get the most out of Tidio notifications, there are a few best practices to consider:

  • Set up all types of notifications: Make sure you get notifications for all types of leads, including chats, messages, and tickets.
  • Use email notifications: If you’re unavailable, make sure email notifications are turned on so you don’t miss a call.
  • Check your settings regularly: Make sure your settings are up to date and that you are receiving the required notifications.
  • Set different sounds: Use different sounds for different types of notifications so you can identify the type of call without looking at the screen.
