Important reminderCrypto.comCrypto.com team, support, ambassadors, and moderators will never send you a private message (PM) first on Telegram or Discord. Anyone who does this is a crook, and never share your retrieval phrase with anyone. Token migration is the process of transferring the ERC20 CRO on the Ethereum network to the CRO on the Cronos POS chain. There will be different ways you can use them based on the location where you hold your CRO –
Through the Crypto.com and TASE app (for users of a central wallet):
- Suitable for CRO holders who prefer an easy way to migrate
Once you have signed up for an account, you can deposit the ERC20 CRO from an external wallet or buy CRO with fiat, credit/debit cards, or trade CRO with other
cryptocurrencies Choose to withdraw CRO as a natural CRO on Cronos POS Chain by selecting the default [CRO] choice instead [ERC20] of other external wallets
Using the Onchain Crypto.com (for decentralized wallet users):
- Suitable for non-custodial CRO holders in mobile
wallet apps We support a simple in-app migration tool to allow you to send the ERC20 CRO for migration registration (read more to learn more)
Through recommended third-party exchange partners (for other centralized users):
- Suitable for CRO holders who are listed on these exchanges. Please follow the guidelines on the exchange for more details on CRO export on Cronos POS Chain
Using Cronos POS Chain Migration Network Tool (for other advanced decentralized users)
- Suitable for advanced users from non-custodial wallets, support MetaMask or Ledger Wallet
connection This process involves more complex steps to make the transfer manually as you may need to create a natural CRO wallet address, so it is recommended for advanced users only.
What are the benefits of migrating my CRO to the main network? The rewards of streaming the constant CRO on the main network areabout 20% per year. To stream or delegate to roedators on the Crypro.org Chain mainnet and earn rewards, you must first convert the ERC20 CRO to natural CRO on the mainnet before you perform the money flow operations. On the other hand, Cronos POS Chain also has transaction fees lower than the Ethereum network crisis. If you withdraw CRO through the Crypto.com app and the exchange, you can choose to withdraw as a natural CRO on Cronos POS Chain for a lower withdrawal fee. In addition, Cronos POS Chain has a faster processing time than the Ethereum network, allowing you to deposit and withdraw your natural CRO faster than ERC20 CRO. Learn more about the difference between native CRO and ERC20 CRO here and Cronos POS Chain Staking here. How do I switch my ERC20 CRO to a natural CRO on Crypto.com Onchain? The in-app migration tool allows you to convert your ERC20 CRO to natural CRO easily. Natural CRO is the native currency of Cronos POS Chain, which allows for near-instant CRO transactions with minimal fees. Plus, the natural CRO allows you to flow and earn up to 20% annually in CRO. Each migration request consists of 2 transactions on the network:
-[ETH Network]: Send ERC20 CRO to our migration bot – “Burn” the ERC20 CRO
[CRO Network] -: Get a natural CRO after verification by the bot, internal audit and payment.
Submit a Migration Application:
Access your CRO Private Wallet Click on the [CRO Migration Tool] banner above your transaction history Read the introduction page of the Migration Tool and click [Migrate Now] Enter the amount of ERC20 CRO you want to transfer and click [Continue]
Review your migration request and click to agree to the terms of migration Click [Confirm Transfer] Confirm the transaction submission with your access code (and 2FA code if enabled) Wait for confirmation on the network that your ERC20 CRO will send to our migration bot After a successful submission, you will see that the status of the transaction will change from “Request Submitted” to “Waiting for Approval” Normally, your migration request must be approved quickly and you will receive your natural CRO within 5 minutes after the status of the transaction is updated to “Pending approval” Note that the function of change is performed by ERC20 CRO on the Ethereum network, while the natural CRO is issued by Cronos POS Chain and is not exchangeable with ERC20 tokens.
How long does it take to complete my migration application and receive my natural CRO into my wallet? For regular migration requests with the migration amount below our manual audit threshold, your request will be processed in about an hour typically, depending on your transaction approval to send ERC20 CRO to our migration bot (which depends on the load on the ETH network). For the migration amount above our manual audit threshold, your request will be processed within 10 business days after the transaction of sending the ERC20 CRO to our migration bot on the network is confirmed. You can use the diagram below for the migration process and changes in the employment status:
My immigration application seems to be stuck, what should I do? Go to the transaction details page of your immigration application, and check the status of your transaction:
Immigration status in “Request Sent”:
Click [View Status on Explorer] To check the status of the transaction in Explorer
- If the status in Explorer is in “Pending” mode, note that it is waiting with the ETH network for confirmation If the status in Explorer is in “Success” mode, re-manage the app and access the transaction details page again to check if the status in the migration is in “Pending Approval”
- If the transaction status is “Success” but the transaction details are still in the “Pending Submitted” status, please follow the instructions in the following question to resubmit your application and re-register (no network fees will be charged).
If the status in Explorer is in “Failed” mode, unfortunately, we haven't received your ERC20 CRO and can't proceed further.
Immigration status in “Pending Approval”
Please note that we process your immigration application, if your immigration amount is a high amount, it will take between 1-2 business days to process your application. If more than 2 business days have passed, please contact us via the feedback form with your TXID or a link to Explorer. Also, you can upload this topic on our Telegram channel with your txid or Explorer link.
My request to delete ERC20 CRO went into “Success” mode in Etherscan Explorer for more than 30 minutes, yet my migration employment status still appears as “Pending Approval”. How can I confirm my immigration status and resubmit the registration application?
Check your migration records and status:
1. Go to CRO Migration web Tool
Tap >[Connect Now][MetaMask]. You can back up your 12-word recovery statement on Onchain and import your wallet into MetaMask Chrome Extension. Note that if you already have an existing MetaMask wallet, in order to import another wallet with the 12-word recovery statement instead of the private key or JSON file, you will need to re-download the MetaMask plugin because only the first wallet can be imported with the recovery statement. Go to the[Migration Records] tab And check your migration record. If your migration request is visible, it means that the registration was successful, you may click expand the details for the most up-to-date status. If there is no data for your migration application, tap[Can’t find your migration record?]to resubmit the registration and follow the instructions below.
Resubmit your migration request (no network fees will be charged):
To use the rebroadcast tool, access Explorer to verify that your ERC20 CRO burn request has been approved and successful on the Ethereum network. Make sure that your migration request has not been presented and that there is no data in the migration on the network tool (see the section above).
Go to the CRO Migration resubmit tool. Click >[Connect Now][Crypto .com Onchain]. Fill in your natural CRO address that starts with “cro…”.
6. Fill out the Ethereum Transaction Hash of your burn request for ERC20 CRO
- You can copy it using the Explorer link through the transaction details > [View Status on Explorer]
7. Review and confirm the details of your migration application for tokens. Make sure all information is correct. 8. Read the “Conditions of Migration of CRO Tokens”. If you understand and agree to the terms, you can check the box and click “Sign Agreement”
9. Sign the agreement in your Metamask wallet. A MetaMask pop-up will appear asking for your signature. By signing this notice using your Metamask account, you confirm that you agree to the terms of the CRO token migration.
- If you don't see the MetaMask pop-ups, you can check the MetaMask icon in your browser in the top right corner. You should see an action that depends on the icon and you can click on the icon to continue the actions in MetaMask.
10. If your immigration application has been submitted, you will see the following page. 11. To check the current status of your immigration applications, click on “Registration of Migration” in the navigation bar or goto this link link 12. You'll see a list of migration requests associated with your current account and its status. If you're not sure about the status, you can hover over the status to explain.
Why do I need to move and is there a deadline? The Cronos POS Chain Mainnet is a blockchain network that is different from the existing CRO (ERC20) in Ethereum. This is the reason for the necessary action of migrating funds. For CRO flow in Cronos POS Chain, you need to flow with a natural CRO. Please note that CRO (ERC20) needs to be used for DeFi Swap protocol, accounts built on the Ethereum blockchain, and smart contracts. At the moment, there is no target date for migration. We strongly recommend that CRO holders convert as soon as possible to enjoy the benefits of Cronos POS Chain as well as stay updated with information in our news channel for the latest updates. How can I convert my natural CRO back to CRO ERC20 using Onchain Crypto.com? Unfortunately, you can't convert the natural CRO back to CRO ERC20 using the CRO migration tool, so please think about the need for your use case carefully before you make the migration –
- Natural CRO required for Cronos POS Chain Staking
ERC20 required for Ethereum network conversion
If you happen to need to convert your natural CRO back to CRO ERC20, another way would be to deposit your natural CRO to our main platforms – the Crypto.com app or the exchange and choose to withdraw CRO as ERC20 tokens.
